How You Bin?

“How You Bin?“ is a participatory waste management system, which takes advantage of social capital to achieve a new healthy, sustainable, and equitable waste system. The project proposes a network of drop-off and collection sites for wastes that bring back resources to the community. Such waste types include plastic recyclables, organics, and cardboard, coming mainly from residential areas. Everyone is encouraged and incentivized to take part. The project strives to bring about a cultural shift from the current status quo. This is achieved by celebrating waste management through active public participation, ensuring social and economic equity between individuals within the community, and challenging the existing stigma placed on those who take part in waste management.
