Columbia GSAPP’s Master of Science in Computational Design Practices (M.S.CDP) is a designated STEM program eligible under the CIP (Classification of Instructional Programs) Code 11.0899: Computer Software and Media Applications, Other.
These CIP codes are eligible for a STEM OPT Extension if other criteria are met. Consequently, international M.Arch, M.S.AAD, M.S.AUD, and M.S.CDP students are eligible to apply to extend their Optional Practical Training (OPT) for an additional 23 months of OPT authorization after the initial 12 months of OPT to work in the United States.
