Applying to GSAPP

Columbia GSAPP is committed to attracting the best talent from a wide range of geographic, cultural, and economic backgrounds, and employs a holistic application review process that considers multiple factors with the intent of creating a class enhanced by diverse voices. Applicants are considered for their academic merit, potential, and individual experiences, and are selected to shape the best possible educational environment in the School’s studios and classrooms for the student body at large.

The application for 2023 Admissions to Master’s and non-degree programs is now open.

Applications to PhD programs are processed by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Open House and
Grad School Fairs

We will offer regular info sessions to answer questions about the process and support you in completing your application throughout the fall semester, please see below for upcoming events.

Events include the 2022 Prospective Student Open House during the week of October 17, Admissions Info and Q&A Sessions will be held scheduled throughout the fall, and participation at Graduate School Fairs held virtually across the country.

GSAPP Launches New M.S. in Computational Design Practices
Part-time Options

Columbia GSAPP offers part-time options for the MS in Computational Design Practices, MS in Historic Preservation, and MS in Urban Planning degrees. Specifically designed for active practitioners in the field who wish to maintain professional positions while studying, these options are based on the same academic requirements and allow students to complete the same degree over a longer time period.
