Equipment Request

PLEASE NOTE: Access to Columbia GSAPP equipment and services is limited to matriculated GSAPP students, staff, and faculty.

  • Equipment should be picked up at GSAPP AV (203 Fayerweather).
  • Equipment will not be checked out to students without a reservation.
  • AV Requests must be submitted by 7PM, one business day before your reservation. Requests made after 7PM will not be processed until the next business day. GSAPP AV is not open Saturdays or Sundays. Requests for Mondays should be made by Friday.
  • Your reservation is not confirmed until you receive an email from GSAPP AV.
  • If you do not receive an email confirmation within 24 hours, please email us directly at: av@arch.columbia.edu
  • Cameras, tripods, audio recorders, lighting kits, and GPS devices may only be checked out for a 48-hour period unless it is checked out on either a Thursday or Friday, in which case it is due the following Monday.
  • You may not make sequential reservations for cameras, tripods, audio recorders, lighting kits, or GPS devices. For instance, if you are checking out this equipment on a Monday and returning it on a Wednesday, you may not check it out again until Friday. This ensures equipment availability for all students.
  • Laptops and projectors are checked out for classroom presentation use only. They may not be kept overnight or be taken off-site.
  • A limited number of USB remotes, laser pointers, and laptop adaptors are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Simply drop by GSAPP AV to pick up this equipment. No reservation is necessary.
  • The following rooms have built-in computers. Please do not request laptops for these rooms:
    • Fayerweather 200S, 201 UP Lab, 202
    • Avery 113, 114, 115, Ware Lounge
  • The following rooms have projectors or televisions installed in them. You may use your own laptop or request one from GSAPP AV. Please do not request a projector for these rooms:
    • Fayerweather 201, 200S, 202, 301, 321M, 323M, 320M
    • Avery 113, 114, 115, 300, 408, 409, 412, 504, 505, Ware Lounge
    • Buell 200N, 300S, 300N
  • If equipment is not returned in a timely manner, your student account will be disabled. You will not be able to login to GSAPP computers nor access your work on the network. Please return equipment on time.
