Interior Perspective Drawing by Zeid Ghawi and James Piacentini

Interior Perspective Drawing

This mixed-use housing project, located in the South Bronx, is a social and cultural hub, designed to foster a sense of ownership and community as well as provide quality housing for families of all sizes. With a highly developed and diverse set of public programs, the groundscape seamlessly connects to the surrounding neighborhood, providing spaces for play and social gathering, recreation and sports, learning and community engagement, as well as performative gardening and greenery. Public and semi-public veins of programming and circulation wind through the main apartment structure, producing layers of public and communal space from the groundscape all the way to interior ‘neighborhood’ areas to the roofscape. Offset unit clusters and stacking provides new spaces for gathering and sharing, and connect interior corridors to the exterior with ample air and light.
