This project introduces open space on a large, sloped-roof surface that’s directly accessible to residents at each level. Vertically stacked units are interlocked and shifted in sequence to create balconies and corridors that connect to the expansive slope and define a new type of vertical neighborhood. All open space including the courtyard, sloped roof, and balconies are organized to provide a gradient of privacy: the courtyard is available for everyone, the sloped roof beginning from the second floor is accessible to residents, and balconies are shared by unit pairs.
