The first weekend (January 29-31) will include a guest lecture by several young, accomplished graphic designers including Neil Donnelly, Glen Cummings of MTWTF and Yoonjai Choi of Common Name. Susan Sellers and Michael Rock of 2x4 will moderate the conversation. Saturday and Sunday will host a series of lectures and workshops aimed at equipping students with the skills, knowledge and resources to design a successful portfolio.

Hear three different designers present three different book projects. The conversation will focus on current trends in graphic design as well as the process of designing and editing books for different audiences and purposes. The presentations will be followed by a discussion between the designers led by Michael Rock and Susan Sellers.

February 6-7

The second weekend (February 6-7) will offer portfolio speed dating, where students will be given the opportunity to present their portfolio to recent alumni who submitted exceptional portfolios at their graduation including Ivy Hume, Lily C. Wong, Kamilla Csegzi, and Xiaoxi Chen. Please note students must bring a printed draft of their portfolio to this event in order to participate. All students are welcome to attend, but please note the speed dating events are only available for graduating students required to submit a portfolio to GSAPP.
