Lorenzo Villaggi

Lorenzo Villaggi is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at GSAPP and a designer and research scientist with ‘The Living’ within Autodesk Research. He specializes on novel algorithmic and data-driven design approaches, reusable design intelligence, advanced visualization, and sustainability.

He graduated with a Master of Architecture from Columbia GSAPP, earning the Charles McKim and Avery 6 awards. Recent projects include the NIS engine Factory for Airbus in Hamburg, the Alkmaar Affordable Housing District for Van Wijnen in the Netherlands, the Autodesk Mars Office in Toronto, and the Embodied Computation Lab for Princeton University.

Lorenzo’s work has been exhibited in numerous international venues including the Venice Biennale, MoMA, and the Centre Pompidou. He authored several scientific papers on data driven techniques and thought workshops on computational design.
