Lily Chishan Wong is a registered architect and assistant professor
based in New York and Miami. Her interdisciplinary research and
creative practice, beep beep LLC, are devoted to making strange
sound, visualizing coloniality, and designing new human-plant
relationships through architecture and ecological thinking. She was
awarded the Harry der Boghosian Fellowship at Syracuse University
in 2022-23, where she pursued her research and teaching project
“Producing Nature” on the production of tropical and subtropical
species as “houseplants” and their social and environmental
dimensions.
Prior to returning to academia, Lily designed cultural buildings and
landscapes at the architecture firm Weiss/Manfredi in New York. She
worked on urban public projects such as the Tampa Museum of Art
and Reimaging La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles. In addition to a
Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP, Lily received
a BFA from Parsons School of Design and a BA in philosophy from the
New School.
