Anna Gasha

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Anna Gasha earned her Ph.D. in Historic Preservation at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in 2025. Her research interests include the intersection between built cultural heritage and natural hazards and disasters, especially with respect to earthen architecture and heritage.

She has recently contributed to research, writing, and educational projects dealing with different aspects of historic preservation, cultural heritage, disasters, and climate action. She is a Built Environment Researcher with Built Buildings Lab and has developed resources on cultural heritage issues during oil spill response through the US National Park Service’s Alaska Regional Office. She has also consulted with Main Street America for their Disaster and Resilience Toolkit.

Anna graduated with an Sc.B. in Materials Engineering and a B.A. in History of Art and Architecture from Brown University and holds an M.S. in Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials from University of California, Berkeley. She is licensed as a Professional Engineer in civil engineering in the State of California.
