Hilary Sample is an Associate Professor at GSAPP. She is a founding principal with Michael Meredith of MOS, an interdisciplinary architecture and design practice based in New Haven. Projects designed in her office have been published widely; have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago; and have received numerous awards, including a Design Award from Progressive Architecture and New York City Architectural League Emerging Voices. In 2010 Ms. Sample received the Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Built projects include PS1/MoMA Afterpart, Hill House, and the Floating House. Current work includes Element House in New Mexico, a renovation of the Sterling Opera House in Derby, CT, and an orphanage Buddhist Child Home in Nepal.
