Axonometric Drawing

The mission of WASTESPACE is to build multipurpose hubs for sustainability and gender equity related to infrastructure innovation and entrepreneurship on Vieques. By reconfiguring current modes of waste collection and recycling, this project intercepts the island’s waste-stream and extracts materials suitable for reprocessing to produce value-added goods that can be branded to promote crafts from Vieques while also providing training and ongoing support for scalable business options for women. Programming will be geared towards providing classes and workshops oriented toward women as they are systematically absent from roles within the existing labor force rich in skill-sharing and entrepreneurship.
