Tracing Food,Tracing Fragility

“Tracing Food, Tracing Fragility looks at what it takes to put food on a table in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and what happens when the systems behind that quiet act begin to fail. The project maps the supply chains, warehouses, and local bodegas that make everyday food access possible, while also tracing the environmental risks and structural inequalities that leave some neighborhoods more exposed than others. A Food Vulnerability Index emerges from this mapping, not as a fixed answer, but as a way of asking: who gets to depend on systems that actually hold? Moving between aerial data, street-level documentation, and an interactive spatial environment, the work invites visitors to navigate these relationships themselves.”
