(Un)Settled Waters: Risk at the Shifting Shoreline Mixed media collage on vellum and mylar
Through archival documents, photographs, maps, and drawn interventions and oral, this project reconstructs Rione Terra’s shoreline as a site of contested realities rather than a fixed geography. Layered and partially obscured materials assemble multiple, conflicting interpretations of the same environmental event, the shifting relationship between land and water, highlighting tensions between natural phenomena, scientific dispute, and state-produced narratives of risk. The shoreline dissolves into a shifting archive where past and present overlap, and risk remains unresolved, suspended between interpretation and power.
