Redhook bio-char brick factory

The project re-imagines the factory as a park, generator, and demonstration site for carbon sequestration via bamboo lime brick and biochar kiln. The program is hosted across four buildings united via a central mezzanine layer and plinth elevated above the currently projected 6’ 9" sea-level rise for 2100. The building attempts to intervene at the former industrial edge of Redhook Brooklyn by matching the monumental scale and industrial typology of the surrounding area while framing a series of courtyards together with bamboo planting.
