Daryan Knoblauch

Daryan Knoblauch is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia GSAPP.

Daryan Knoblauch is an architect, designer and educator who runs the eponymous architecture practice founded in Berlin in 2024.

Knoblauch’s practice received the ArchDaily 2025 Best Practice Award, with projects spanning cultural buildings, pavilions, exhibition architecture and devices for artistic performance. His work treats architecture as an active spatial apparatus to stage cultural, social and environmental forces.

Since graduating with distinction in 2021 from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, he has taught as a Studio Master at the AA and as an Associate Lecturer at the Royal College of Art, as well as being a Studio Master at Porto Academy 2025.

The studio’s work positions architecture within contemporary cultural production, with commissions from internationally renowned cultural institutions and an avant-garde selection of clients from the arts, music and fashion sectors across Europe and internationally. Selected clients and collaborators include the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, Fundació Mies van der Rohe in Barcelona, ArkDes – Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design in Stockholm, Haus der Kunst Munich, Whitechapel Gallery London and Volksbühne Berlin, as well as Candela Capitán, Judeline, Marie Lueder, Mowalola and Rombaut, among many others.

His work has been presented internationally at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, where he was a speaker at The World Around Summit 2025, as well as at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, Milan Design Week, the Seoul Architecture Biennale, Melbourne Design Week, Concéntrico and others.

His work and research have been published and featured in platforms including ArchDaily, ARCH+, Architectural Record, DOMUS, e-flux, AA Files, i-D Magazine, Ad, Designboom and DAB. In 2026, the studio’s work was presented through 000 – Systems, Prosthetics, Devices, a book and solo exhibition at MAGAZIN in Vienna.

Alongside his teaching positions, Knoblauch has been invited to lecture, participate in symposia and serve as a guest critic at leading architecture schools internationally, including Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, ETH Zürich, HEAD – Genève, Bauhaus University, Dropcity Milan, COAC Barcelona and Porto Academy, among many others.
