Ed Adler is Managing Director responsible for for the US Commercial Real Estate Group at Deutsche Bank where he rejoined in 2011. Formerly, he was Managing Director and head of Americas and the Asian Real Estate Finance business for the Fixed Income Division of Citigroup. Prior to joining Citigroup, Mr. Adler ran the Asian Real Estate Finance and Securitization businesses for Deutsche Bank Securities in Tokyo, Japan.
Mr. Adler began his banking career at Citicorp in 1988. From 1988 to 1998 Mr. Adler was responsible for several credit sensitive assets and business lines at Citicorp, Inc. Mr. Adler’s first position at Citi was as a construction lender in the Commercial Real Estate Group; Mr. Adler was next responsible for the restructuring of in excess of $3 billion of commercial real estate and corporate debt. Mr. Adler’s responsibilities at Citicorp also included structuring credit derivatives on behalf of Citicorp Securities, Inc. In his final position at Citicorp, Mr. Adler had full profit and loss responsibility for Citicorp Credit Services, Inc exposure to $7.5 billion of sub prime consumer credit card debt.
Mr. Adler graduated with honors from Union College with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Additionally, Mr. Adler is an adjunct professor at Columbia’s School of Real Estate Development Program.
Mr. Adler serves on the board of The Catalog for Giving, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of New York City children by identifying and providing crucial funding and operational support to emerging innovative community-based organizations that assist underserved youth throughout New York City.
