The Expanded Field of Urban Design

Mon, Jul 17    6:30pm

In the evolution of the discipline of urban design, one of the most intensively discussed questions has been the definition of the discipline itself: What is Urban Design? Rather than a concrete answer, this event explores the expanded field of urban design through the lens of people, who graduated from Columbia GSAPP’s Urban Design program in recent decades. Through their current work and a reflection of the ways in which their experience at Columbia GSAPP shaped their thinking about design, cities and politics, the event intends to open a dialogue about What Urban Designers DO?
