Roundtable discussion unites specialists to address the challenges and strategies for the conception and participatory management of projects.

Though still viewed as alternative, populations’ active participation in the decision-making and transformations of their cities should be central to all environmental and social agendas. It strengthens communities and produces resilience. Dyonne Boy (NGO Jongo da Serrinha Cultural Group), Geisa Lino TBC (Redes da Maré), Marcos Rosa (Curator of the 11th São Paulo Biennial of Architecture), Maria Augusta Bueno (São Paulo Lab) and José Luis Vallejo (Ecosistema Urbano) will discuss their personal experiences with participatory initiatives and the challenges involved.
