Radical Pedagogies

Fri, Sep 30, 2022    1pm

Come celebrate the launch of Radical Pedagogies, co-edited by Barnard and Columbia Architecture faculty members Ignacio G. Galán and Evangelos Kotsioris along with Beatriz Colomina and Anna-Maria Meister. This collection of essays explores a number of experiments that transformed the teaching of architecture (and architecture itself) in relation to different social, political, and environmental agendas of the 1960s and 70s. The event will consist of a presentation by the book editors and a panel discussion with Brian Goldstein, Iván L. Munuera, and Jocelyn K. Wilk focusing on a number of intersections of activism and pedagogy at Columbia and its surrounding neighborhoods, followed by an interactive workshop facilitated by Frank Guridy.

Register at the CEP site here.

Sponsored by the Center for Engaged Pedagogy, the Architecture Department, the Office of the Vice President for DEI, the Vagelos Computational Science Center, and the Athena Center for Leadership.
