Durst Conference 2016: New Typologies of Real Estate Development

Fri, Jun 17, 2016    9:30am

In New York City, the mix of entrepreneurs and creative visionaries, newly arrived global residents and deeply embedded local communities has continuously spurred new ideas for shaping the built environment. As new social dynamics for work life and leisure emerge, new physical environments are required to support changing formats and needs.

At the 2016 Durst Conference, panelists will discuss and debate real estate development projects that are currently demonstrating promising and varied programmatic functions, design formats, and even processes by which they are delivered:
- Office space shared by small-scale, entrepreneurial, and temporary tenants
- Residential formats providing smaller units and common spaces for previously private activities
- Buildings fabricated as modules or with core components that allow for later additions
- Project funding extended to a multitude of small equity contributors
