Henry Cobb

a lecture by Henry N. Cobb followed by conversation with Columbia GSAPP Professor Laurie Hawkinson.

Henry N. Cobb (1926-2020) was a Founding Partner of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Architects, based in New York City. His built works embrace a wide range of building types in cities across North America and around the world. Throughout his career, Mr. Cobb coupled his professional activity with teaching. From 1980 to 1985, he chaired the Department of Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. From 2006 to 2012, he served on the Advisory Board of the Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture, and as chair 2010-12. Mr. Cobb’s memoir Words & Works 1948-2018 was published in October 2018.
