Markers of Nuclear Legacies

This project responds to the topic of chemical modernity by investigating and highlighting the spatial, geopolitical, and cultural implications of nuclear tests by the U.S. in the Marshall Islands. It highlights this historical scarring of the Bikini Atoll and its former population as a result of nuclear architecture, by creating physical experiential markers for the tourists that visit the site. The artificial islands are designed for scuba divers and other tourists.
