In-between Rooms

A new typology of housing seeks to strengthen community through shifting inhabitiion from the dwelling to the room. A customization of the home through the specifically chosen aggregation of rooms allows for an infinitely broad reinterpretation of family, as well as a territory that can expand and contract in response to each family’s idiosyncratic and changing needs. The space in between rooms becomes semi-public and accordingly dynamic.

Over time, an organic sharing of spaces may occur, as families identify and stay rooted in their community, adapting their space to fit familial, or financial needs without relocating.
