Section Drawing

This design acknowledges the increasingly conflicted and interconnected relationships between humans, machines, and nature. This water treatment facility opens to the public following its transformation from a former parking lot. Using the elements of enclosure, mobility, and landscape, we capitalize on the transition from thickness to thinness from different scales. Over time, this transition reflects the building’s adaptability as its function shifts from a parking lot to a treatment facility for surface runoff at the Newburgh Airport runway.
