The keffiyeh’s patterns simultaneously symbolizes three aspects of identity and methods of resistance: culturally meaningful olive trees stand firm against the bulldozers of ethnic cleansing, mobility and communication of trade routes confront the internet black-outs, sieges, and blockades that enable the genocide in Palestine, and self-sufficiency through the use of fishnets counter the humanitarian injustices of enforced starvation.

Today, the keffiyeh is a symbol around the world for all who affirm solidarity and resiliently fight for a free Palestine. Yet, the keffiyeh ties our bodies directly to a resistance rooted in Palestinian land, of its earth, waters, and vegetation, despite the varying geographies of this liberation movement
