Sara D. Roosevelt Park becomes an active educational landscape that extends learning beyond the school day. Observing how the park’s central intersection already hosts birdwatching, nightlife, and gardening activities, I focused on the underutilized hours between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM-when many young people and adults lack access to meaningful programming. The proposal introduces a sequence of spaces that build on existing activity while opening new opportunities for informal education. The birdwatching zone becomes a hub for ecological learning, while an elevated meandering path rises above the busy street to offer new perspectives on the park and city. A skyspace, inspired by James Turrell and placed above the Senior Center, frames the sky for guided lessons and quiet reflection. Finally, a greenhouse expands hands-on, plant-based education for younger students. Together, these elements create a flexible, accessible environment that embeds learning directly into the rhythm of daily urban life.
