Raw Assembly

Project by Tingrong Zheng

My project primarily explores two aspects. The first is how materials can address climate challenges. Given New York’s hot and humid summers, many homes suffer from poor insulation and moisture resistance. I will address this issue through a combination of endogenous materials.

The second component concerns the production chain. I’ve discovered that the majority of material waste occurs during the finishing process of stone production. In my project, I will eliminate this process and reduce waste, labor costs, and carbon emissions by using directly mined boulders
