Fugitive Ecologies

Project by Karla Domínguez

Gansevoort becomes a site where ecologies are free, neither erased nor buried. Our intervention reverses the historical logic of erasure and control that has shaped this peninsula. In New York City, often celebrated as liberal, we foreground tension by allowing what was discarded to return and take root. This is an architecture that remembers, one that reflects the persistence of ghosts and the resilience of life that refuses disappearance. It lets go of control of form and instead operates as a system of ecologies, adaptive, fugitive, and unresolved. 🌱
