How long has it been since you’ve grown a vegetable or enjoy a harvest? For most people, vegetables only exist in supermarkets, grocery bags, or a refrigerator. That’s because most people flock from the countryside to the city, especially in New York. This decreases opportunities for spending time with vegetables, plants, and nature. This project aims to encourage citizens’ reverence to and intimacy with nature. It creates agricultural experiences and education for children and adults who never or rarely experienced agriculture and look forward to enriching their knowledge. The overground portion is mainly a field of vegetables that are highly fond of light and water. Below a southern canopy are fields for vegetables such as olive trees, broccoli, and onion. It also includes an underground restaurant that enables patrons to pick, wash, and cook vegetables with guidance.
