Urban Planning Exchange Program

Columbia GSAPP and University College London (UCL) Bartlett have established a student exchange program between the two schools. Students enrolled in the MSUP program at Columbia GSAPP may be eligible to participate in the exchange for the period of one semester after they have completed at least one semester of studies at GSAPP.

Columbia GSAPP students participating in the exchange will maintain full-time status at Columbia and continue as candidates for the MSUP degree. Academic credits completed at UCL may be transferred to Columbia to count towards the MSUP degree. Students must work with the Urban Planning Program Director and the Academic Affairs Office prior to registration at UCL to ensure that the exchange coursework fulfills the necessary MSUP degree requirements. Exchange students are not eligible for any UCL degree based on the coursework completed during the exchange semester.

GSAPP students participating in the exchange maintain full-time status at Columbia and are responsible for Columbia tuition and fees billed for the exchange period. Students will be registered as non-degree seeking students at UCL Bartlett, where they are not charged tuition but may be required to pay other mandatory fees such as module materials fees or computer use fees.

Current MSUP students will be invited to express their interest in participating in the exchange program, and selected candidates may submit a formal application to UCL. For more information, please contact Kian M. Goldman, Assistant Director of MS Urban Planning, at kmg2227@columbia.edu.
