Dongsheng Li is a Doctoral Student in Architecture at Columbia GSAPP. Working across architectural history, media theory, and critical theory, his research examines how media infrastructures produce and reorganize spatial, environmental, and political relations. He is particularly interested in how these infrastructures mediate governance and the transnational circulation and (re)appropriation of ideologies across political transformations from the mid-twentieth century to the present.

He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, where his thesis investigated the spatial politics of data centers in relation to histories of labor, displacement, and Indigenous communities. His work has been supported by the Mellon Humanities + Urbanism + Design Research Award, the Paul Philippe Cret Medal, and the Atkin Fellowship.
