Nicolay Duque-Robayo

Nicolay Duque-Robayo is a Doctoral Student in Architecture at Columbia GSAPP. With a background in editorial, publishing, curatorial, and arts administration, Nicolay embeds comparative media studies into his writing on film, architecture, and urban planning. His current work focuses on the colonial genealogy and non-Western formation of modern architecture and urbanism in the Americas at the end of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century. Nicolay received a B.A. in Philosophy and Art History from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Art History with a specialization in Design History, and an M.A. in Arts Administration and Policy, both from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
