GSAPP Welcomes New Administrators

Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) is pleased to welcome 10 new staff members during the summer 2022 semester across the School’s programs and offices. Xiaoxi Chen
Assistant Director, MSAAD Program
Xiaoxi is a 2015 graduate of GSAPP’s M.Arch program and has been supporting the MSAAD program since 2018, formerly as a Program Manager and Associate. Xiaoxi previously worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2x4, Neri & Hu, and other architecture & design studios internationally. She launched the architecture and design practice XIAOXI in 2021, working on projects with the UCCA in Beijing and Shanghai, de Young Museum, and the Andy Warhol Museum, among others. In addition to a M.Arch degree, Xiaoxi holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, and is a SOM Foundation Research Fellow.

Kane Chiang
Assistant Director, Multimedia Services
Kane has supported GSAPP’s AV team as an AV Specialist since 2021, and previously worked as an AV Specialist at Long Island University and Molloy College. Kane received a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Film and Theater from the City College of New York.

Adeline Chum
Assistant Director, Center for Spatial Research (CSR)
Adeline is a 2022 graduate of GSAPP’s M.Arch program, and previously worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the CSR and a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the M.Arch Visual Studies Sequence. Prior to GSAPP, Adeline worked as an architectural designer at Baird Sampson Neuert Architects in Toronto. In addition to a M.Arch degree, Adeline received a Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree from the University of Waterloo.

Emily Dennis
Assistant Director, Student Affairs
Emily previously worked as the Assistant Director of Admissions and Admissions Counselor at the Columbia University School of Social Work since 2018. Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Vassar College and is currently a Master’s in Education (Ed.M.) candidate at Columbia University’s Teachers College.

Darwin Eng
Assistant Director, M.Arch Program
Darwin previously worked as the Business Manager at the Columbia University Center for Science and Society since 2017. Darwin received a Master of Arts degree in English and Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Anthropology, both from Queens College, City University of New York.

Monisola Fakiyesi
Assistant Director, Admissions Systems
Monisola most recently worked as the Student Support Manager, International Designated School Official, and Disability Services Coordinate at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C. Monisola received a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Change at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in African American Studies at the University of Rhode Island.

Kian Goldman
Assistant Director, MSUP Program
Kian has been working in higher education for about 15 years, including as an adjunct professor for 12 years, most recently at St. Paul’s School of Nursing in New York. Kian received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Benedict College, a Master’s in Education degree from St. John’s University, and has also completed Masters coursework in social sciences at Long Island University.

Jenny Lee
Assistant Director, Finance
Jenny previously worked as an Executive Assistant at the Columbia University Medical Center since 2018. Jenny received a Master of Science degree in Global Business and Finance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Management, and Finance, both from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.

Adam Vosburgh
Assistant Director, MSCDP Program
Adam is a 2022 graduate of GSAPP’s M.Arch program and, while at the School, worked as a Teaching Assistant for the M.Arch Visual Studies Sequence and the Center for Spatial Research (CSR). Previously, Adam worked as a Junior Architect at OMA NY and SANAA architecture offices in New York City and Tokyo, respectively. In addition to a M.Arch degree, Adam received a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Architecture and Japanese from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Douglas Woodward
Associate Director of Professional Development and Practice, MSUP Program
Douglas has previously worked in a variety of planning and design-related positions, including city government (Principal Urban Designer and Urban Planner at the Department of City Planning), private real estate and development (Vice President of Design & Development at Edison Properties), and the nonprofit sector (Chief Planning Officer and Senior Director of Real Estate at the Lincoln Center Development Project). Douglas is a graduate of Columbia University (‘75 BA, ‘76 MA GSAS) and has taught as an Adjunct Professor at GSAPP since 1991.
