Istanbul95 Talks: Samuel Williams

Wed, May 16, 2018    7pm

Cities Alive - Designing For Urban Childhoods

Samuels Williams, a landscape architect of the renowned engineering and design firm ARUP, is in Studio-X as the guest of ‘Istanbul95 Talks”. This talk series that previously hosted Elger Blitz and Darrell Hammond is part of the Istanbul95 program, which supports the development of socially and economically disadvantaged children ages 0-3.

Noting that children’s respectful city design is not just about the design of playgrounds, Williams will talk about the common characteristics of cities that put children at the center; see nature as an integral part of design and their infrastructure and public space projects.

Istanbul95 Talk Series, which is made possible with the technical and financial support of the Bernard van Leer Foundation, aims to increase awareness of young designers and transform their perceptions and visions in this direction.

The event is in English. Simultaneous translation to Turkish will be available.
