EM2N: Strategies of Transformations

Sat, Jan 14, 2017    7pm

With offices in both Zurich and Berlin, EM2N with Mathias Müller (1966) and Daniel Niggli (1970) have 70 collaborators working on construction and competition projects in Switzerland and abroad. In addition to a number of awards they received the ‘Swiss Art Awards’ in Architecture in 2004. They were visiting professors at the EPFL and ETH Zurich, as well as member of the construction commitees in Berlin and Zurich. They are members of the Architects Group Krokodil.

This Semester they are teaching as visiting professors together with Medine Altiok at Bilgi University in Istanbul. Their master design studio on the theme of ‘Transformations’ is dealing, with the future of the Atatürk Oto Sanayi Sitesi Kısım II in commercial area Maslak, a dynamic urban district of Istanbul. The studio will densify both usage and built fabric in order to transform the area into a truly urban place.

At Studio-X Mathias Müller and Daniel Niggli will speak about Strategies of Transformations and what inspires them in their practice.
