Elangovan Govindan ‘12 MS.AUD, Eliza Dekker '23 MS.UP, and Nikita K '20 MS.AUD will facilitate an in-person information session to discuss working at Sasaki and some of their projects. A short presentation followed by a Q&A session will be held at the end.
Elango Govindan is a Senior Associate and Urban Designer at Sasaki. Since joining Sasaki in 2013, he has worked on multi-disciplinary projects around the globe. Elango concentrates on urban revitalization, Mixed-use Urban districts, and large-scale urban redevelopment projects, predominantly in Asia and the Middle East.
Before Sasaki, he worked in Mumbai, leading projects in India ranging from designing houses to cultural institutions.
Elango graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s in Architecture and Urban design. He received a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Anna University, School of Architecture and Planning in Chennai, India.
Eliza Dekker is an urban planner who brings a data-driven, design-led approach to building more welcoming, beautiful, and resilient cities. She infuses her expertise in economic geography, cartography, and creative strategy in her work at the intersection of the civic and commercial realms.
Eliza holds a Master of Science in Urban Planning with a concentration in Urban Analytics from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Economics from Dartmouth College. Prior to joining Sasaki, she engaged civic clients on geospatial strategy at Bloomberg Associates and WXY.
Nikita K serves as an Urban Designer at Sasaki while also holding a degree from the prestigious MSAUD program at GSAPP Columbia. Her passion resides at the crossroads of ecology and the built environment, drawing inspiration from regenerative systems. She is dedicated to fostering harmonious relationships between communities and their ecosystems, ensuring mutual benefits. Her extensive professional journey spans diverse global contexts, including the USA, India, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and Croatia. Her involvement has encompassed projects of various scales, ranging from crafting modular pavilions for ethnic minority communities in Rijeka to campus master plans and envisioning commercial mixed-use developments.
