SHoP Information Session with GSAPP Alumni

Angela Sun ‘21 M.Arch, Gawon Shin '15 M.Arch will facilitate a virtual information session to discuss working at SHoP and some of their projects. A brief Q&A session will be held at the end.

Angela Sun is an architectural designer and illustrator based in New York City. They graduated with their Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP in 2021 and was awarded the Evans Simpson ’88 M.Arch Prize for Excellence in Design. They received their Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Design and Environmental Analysis minor from Cornell University in 2018. They are currently an architectural designer at SHoP Architects, leading enclosure and structural coordination for commercial buildings in Los Angeles and Houston.

Gawon Shin is an interdisciplinary architect, designer, and generalist based in New York City. Gawon serves as Project Director at SHoP Architects with experience in a wide range of building typologies, scales, and phases. Since joining SHoP Architects in 2015, Gawon has been an integral team member at Schuylkill Yards in Philadelphia, National Veterans Resource Center at Syracuse University, 3401 South La Cienega in Los Angeles, and Hudson’s Site in Detroit. Gawon has led design team coordination for enclosure design, mass timber structure, space planning, and fast-track delivery. Gawon holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from the University of Washington.
