WSP Information Session with Alumnus Patricia Sabater Oquendo and Elaine Gamolo

Patricia Sabater Oquendo ‘08 MS.AUD and Senior Lead Architect at WSP with Elaine Gamolo, a Junior Architectural Designer will facilitate a virtual information session to discuss working at WSP, their projects, and current career opportunities. A brief Q & A session will be held at the end.

Patricia Sabater Oquendo is a design professional and currently a Senior Lead Architect within the Transportation Facilities Group at WSP. In working with large infrastructural work Ms. Sabater Oquendo is passionate about providing quality public urban spaces and facilitating transportation towards urban improvement.

Through strong leadership, skills in management, communication, organization, and experience with complex technical coordination, she provides an exceptional design of new facilities, and modifications of existing facilities and infrastructure, being conscious of interface with and impacts on the public realm. She leads the design team through establishing workflows to align with project goals and delivery.

Ms. Sabater Oquendo has led and contributed to projects of various scales within the transportation and the public civic sector, including transit stations, aviation, public parks, and infrastructure.

Elaine Gamolo is currently a Junior Architectural Designer within the Transportation Facilities Group at WSP. After graduating with her Master of Infrastructure Planning from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, she has since been interested in the intersection of equitable design and transportation in our built environment across a variety of scales.

Ms. Gamolo has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects within the Tri-State area and across the country, including rail and subway stations, tunnel facilities, public parks, and more. These projects have strengthened her knowledge and communication in design, demonstrating her skills in drawing development, accessibility, code compliance, project coordination, and ability to provide design solutions for new and existing project challenges. As an emerging design professional, she aims to develop the connection between transportation, sustainability, and public space.
