• Fall Advanced Architecture V Studios: 20 faculty members across 14 syllabi.

• Pritzker Prize-winning architect Liu Jiakun delivers a lecture on his seminal work to open the Fall 2026 Public Programming at GSAPP.

Laurie Hawkinson (GSAPP, Smith-Miller Hawkinson Architects) discusses five of her projects with the people who served as key collaborators: Jonathan R. Cole (Columbia), Catherine Ingraham (Pratt), Barbara Kruger, Reinhold Martin (GSAPP), and Guy Nordenson (Princeton) in a conversation moderated by Bart-Jan Polman (GSAPP).

Laurie Hawkinson is an architect, Professor Emeritus of Architecture at GSAPP, and serves on the Public Design Commission for New York City. She is a co-founder with Henry Smith-Miller of Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects. Her diverse body of work spans scales and typologies, expanding beyond architecture’s conventional boundaries.

Faculty Lucia Allais (GSAPP), Forrest Meggers (Princeton), and Michael Faciejew (Dalhousie University) discuss their latest edited book, After Concrete, in conversation with contributor Dan Steingart (Columbia).

Concrete is a highly transformative building material. Its story begins in the ancient world, where early builders discovered that mixing lime with volcanic ash created a remarkably strong substance. This volume looks at the future of concrete from different perspectives, investigating how its sustainability will draw from innovative research and from past solutions.
