This week, GSAPP’s summer programs culminate with Final Reviews.

MSAAD’s AAD Advanced Studio Final Reviews take place July 27-29, followed by the AAD Review Summit on July 30, a celebration of the collective work across all studios.

MSAUD students presents Plural Futures and its Co-Construction, using board games as design instruments to examine the competing forces, negotiations, and collective processes that shape urban futures. Game plays and Final Reviews are on July 30 in 100 and 114 Avery.

Lorenzo Villaggi ‘15 MArch is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at GSAPP and Principal Research Scientist at Autodesk Research / The Living. He is an architect and researcher applying emerging technology for low-carbon and habitable futures, and specializes on novel algorithmic and data-driven design approaches, reusable design intelligence, advanced visualization, and sustainability.

The lecture is moderated by Faculty Catherine Griffiths and organized by the MSCDP program as part of the Conversations with Practitioners lecture series.

• Faculty Christopher Munsell’s article “ChatGPT’s Adverse Impact on Real Estate Finance: Assessing Graduate Student Attitudes on the Use of GenAI and Its Detrimental Effects on Student Performance” is published in the Journal of Real Estate Practice and Education.

• Faculty Ziad Jamaleddine (L.E.FT Architects) delivers a lecture on interfaith design at the AIA New Jersey Intersection of Interfaith Design event.

• Faculty Hiba Bou Akar discusses how the constant anticipation of future conflict shapes everyday life and architectural decisions in Lebanon for SAH03: Staying with the Trouble: Conversations around Architecture Otherwise. (pictured)

  8 Minutes, 20 Seconds: Housing After Banking, Encrypting the Sun is reviewed in the Architect’s Newspaper by Richard Plunz.

• Director of MSAUD Neeraj Bhatia contributes to At Home with the Collective: A Report from the Future of Housing, which examines anticipatory housing typologies as a way to catalyze collectives.

• Faculty Steven Holl, Ada Tolla and Giuseppe Lignano (LOT-EK), Kate Orff (SCAPE), and Alumni Dominic Leong '03 MSAAD and Charles Renfro '94 MSAAD, among others, are recognized in Wallpaper USA 400.

• Faculty Juan Herreros participates in the panel, “Museums and City,” at Fundación MACBA’s World Capital of Architecture.

• Director of M.S.AAD Lydia Kallipoliti receives the Gold Medal in Exhibition Design at the 2026 European Design Awards for her project “The Metabolic Home”.

• Faculty Hilary Sample (MOS) and Director of M.S.HP Jorge Otero-Pailos are 2026 Graham Foundation grantees.
