Taking the Plunge: Learning from Leaders on Starting a Business

Mon, Apr 16, 2018    6:30pm

Architecture, urban design, planning, preservation, and real estate are all entrepreneurial professions, and many GSAPP alumni have gone on to start their own businesses. The GSAPP Alumni Board is committed to developing professional development programming that brings experts and leaders in the field to present to our alumni.

The panel discussion will include:
Jonie Fu ‘86 MSAUD, Partner, Fu Wilmers Design
Jesse Wark '07 MSRED, Founding Principal, Avery Hall Investments
Dominic Leong '03 MSAAD, Partner, Leong Leong
Mary Jablonski '90 MSHP, Founder, Jablonski Building Conservation, Inc.

All of the participants have started their own firms and will share their insights into what that takes, what resources are out there, and provide an honest conversation about what they wish they knew before they took the plunge. The discussion will be moderated by Adjunct Professor Paul Segal, and will be followed by a networking reception. Bring your burning questions and entrepreneurial spirit to this exciting event!

This event is hosted by the GSAPP Office of Development and Alumni Relations and organized by the members of the GSAPP Alumni Board’s Mentorship & Career Services Committee: Ruth Benjamin '10 M.Arch, Barbara Campagna '86 MSHP, Angela Cavaluzzi '86 MSAUD, Jonie Fu '86 MSAUD, Jennifer Romeo '12 M.Arch, and Andrea Sreshta '11 M.Arch.
