The Edge on Pier 45

“The Acies, instead of a steady line, might be a Hetetrapias that is limited to slices in time, which is constantly moving and changing. The research towards Hudson River suggested that the space between water and pier 45 could be viewed as a living edge, which in other word, a Acies. It is a batterÞ eld between human activity and natural reclaimation. The design relates to a sense of connection between people and nature, a shared sense of purpose and meaning that ß ows from that, and which translates to the ways of how to coexist. The project is designed to receive an authority vested in the past, preserve it in the present while coping with new circumstances, and to transmit it to this space.”
