The Business of Architecture

Thu, Jun 22, 2023    12pm

A conversation with Eric Liftin ‘94 M.Arch, Founder and Principal of MESH Architectures will discuss the business of architecture from the perspective of owning a small firm and the sustainable business practices that have kept MESH Architectures successful for the last 26 years.

Eric Liftin, AIA, CPHD, LEED AP, established MESH Architectures in 1997 as a versatile architectural firm that bridges the gap between physical and virtual design. MESH’s diverse portfolio includes projects of varying sizes and types, residential and commercial. While exploring innovative materials and emerging technologies, the firm focuses on sustainable design practices such as passive house, mass timber construction, energy-efficient LED lighting, and digital interfaces. MESH has designed and developed two multifamily buildings, integrating design-forward architecture with high performance, specifically tailored to modern, urban family living. Liftin holds an M.Arch degree from Columbia University and a BA in Literature from Yale University.

The conversation will be moderated by Marly Rose McNeal '25 M.Arch/MS.RED
