B. Tyler Silvestro

Tyler Silvestro is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia GSAPP where he teaches a studio focused on urban design and architecture with a focus on ecological urbanism and landscape design. He received his Masters of Landscape Architecture from City College Spitzer School of Architecture.

Tyler is a landscape architect working for W Architecture & Landscape Architecture in Brooklyn. His focus is on the public process of design and construction and its impacts in the public realm. He has worked on various projects that focus on post-Sandy rebuilding, including a competition to rebuild regions in the Sandy-affected regions of New York and New Jersey called Rebuild by Design. He served as a subject matter expert for the Rockefeller Foundation throughout the National Disaster Resilience Competition. Tyler also founded and is the co-editor of Corridor, a forthcoming annual publication focused on the built environments of nodal cities along the Northeast Corridor.
