Adjunct Assistant Professor

Jonathas Valle runs his own architectural design practice in New York since 2012. Valle Previously worked at renowned firms in New York City, as one of the lead team members on the JW Marriot Hotel in Vietnam, Ardmore Tower - "Sculptura" in Singapore, Cooper Hotel NYC (now the Standard East Village) and others.

Jonathas studied architecture at the prestigious Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, where he created and helped run numerous architectural practices with different partners over the years, working on many aspects of the field with extensive experience in construction, both on site and in detailed construction documents. On specialty interior design projects, Jonathas has continuously teamed up with different local artists and visual designers (Nicia Braga, Studio Vorko, among others) to creatively collaborate and produce unique pieces for each client, including special porcelain sinks, tile lines, custom furniture, digital and large scale prints, artwork, etc.

In 2005 he moved to New York and graduated with an M.S. AAD from Columbia GSAPP in 2007. Since then he has worked both in Brazil and the US on residential and commercial projects ranging from retail stores, residential and commercial towers, interior design, furniture design, showrooms and design, art and architectural exhibitions. International awards include the Deca Design awards 2013, Casa Cor design awards 2013,2014 and others. Valle also currently writes a seasonal architectural column for the Habitat Magazine, Brazil.
