Arash Barati

Arash is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Real Estate program at Columbia GSAPP.

He is also an Associate at Drake Real Estate Partners, a real estate investment management firm based out of New York. Drake has invested in over $1.2B of real estate in the United States since its inception in 2012 through its three closed-end private equity fund vehicles.

Previously, Arash worked in AIG Investment’s Real Estate Group, where he completed $1.3B of transactions across the United States and Canada. Prior to AIG, Arash was a part of the origination team of Ready Capital Structured Finance (part of hedge fund Waterfall Asset Management) in New York and also MCAP Financial in Toronto, where he worked on credit investments across the capital stack.

Arash graduated with a BBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, where he majored in finance and economics. Arash also holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate from Columbia University.
