Columbia GSAPP’s Summer Intro Program is a 5-week intensive course offering 3 points of credit.

The course structure allows students to work with GSAPP instructors in small groups to develop their design skills and critical thinking by participating in a daily design studio. Alongside the architecture studio, students are invited to participate in a rich series of related program offerings including lectures, discussions, workshops, and site-visits to learn about computation, making, ecology, history/theory, and the practice of architecture.

Students also benefit from portfolio workshops and experience the culture of graduate-level instruction at Columbia University, with outcomes including credits that may be transferred to their home institution and preparation for a future graduate school application.
