Ward Dennis is a partner at Higgins Quasebarth & Partners, LLC, a New York-based preservation consulting firm specializing in the restoration, rehabilitation and adaptive use of historic properties. His work at HQ includes research and documentation, conditions assessment surveys, preservation tax credit approvals, zoning and land use approvals and design consultation and approvals for new buildings and additions to historic buildings. Prior to HQ, he worked as an architectural conservator at Jablonski Berkowitz Conservation in New York.
Ward has a B.A. in Geography from Columbia College and is a graduate of Columbia’s Historic Preservation Program. He is involved in local land-use and policy issues in Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where he is serves as co-chair of NAG (http://www.nag-brooklyn.org/) an environmental-justice and planning advocacy group. He has also served as the chair of the land use committee for the local community board.
His current research interests include the history of Brooklyn, the history and preservation of industrial architecture, and the development of new technologies for the documentation of historic structures and local histories.
