Tutorial 14: Using Hawth's Analysis Tools

Hawth's Analysis Tools for ArcGIS are now available on the computers in Fayerweather 202. These are a collection of easy-to-use tools for GIS analysis, most of which are not available within the ArcToolbox. They include tools for rasters, vectors, analysis, and sampling. Enjoy!

1. For information on Hawth's Analysis Tools, descriptions of the toolsets, and instructions for how to use them, visit the Spatial Ecology website at http://www.spatialecology.com/htools/tooldesc.php.

Setting up the Toolbar:

2. First, before you can use Hawth's Analysis Tools, you must enable the Hawth's extension. To do this, select Tools > Extensions.

3. In the following dialogue, make sure that the "Hawth's Analysis Tools" extension is checked.

4. After you've enabled the extension, you can add the Hawth's Analysis Tools toolbar to ArcMap. To do this, right-click in the toolbar section of the ArcMap interface. A list of all available toolbars will appear. Check "Hawth's Tools."

5. The toolbar should appear.
